Debbie Rivenbark Godwin, 56, of Burgaw passed gently from her earthly life on January 23, 2015 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCare Center.
She was born April 19, 1958 in Burgaw, the daughter of the late Woodley William and Louise Wells Rivenbark.
Debbie leaves a family that is grateful for the joy she brought into their lives: her devoted husband of 40 years, Ronald "Ronnie" Lewis Godwin; beloved son, Jason Godwin; brothers, Woodley Roger Rivenbark and Robert Hugh "Bobby" Rivenbark; sisters, Marinas R. Jones (Byron) and Julie R. Jones (Jamie); and several nieces and one nephew.
Many will remember Debbie and Rosa Brown's seafood market, Hooked on Seafood.
Debbie loved with all of her heart and her radiant smile brightened the life of everyone she knew. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend; the joy of her life was her beloved family. Filled with kindness, compassion, and sweet spirit, Debbie was giver and take care kind of person. Debbie's family is grateful to God for her life and for all acts of kindness that have lent them support during her brief illness. Debbie leaves a legacy of love, hope and faith.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with Rev. Byron Jones and Mr. Robert Carter officiating. Following the service the family will receive friends.
