Obituary

Deborah "Debbie" June Streeter of Wilmington passed into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, September 19, 2024.

Born January 27, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Logan Elmer and Louise Tatum Streeter.  She was also predeceased by her husband of 20 years, Charles "Chuck" Durwood James; sisters, Linda Mayotte and Mary Lou Wilkins and brother, Bruce Streeter.

Debbie was a faithful member of Long Leaf Baptist Church where she served and worshiped with great joy.  She was known for her warm smile, generous spirit and her love for the Lord.  Whether baking, gardening or playing scrabble online, Debbie was an industrious woman always desiring to do everything unto the glory of God.  She was adored by her family especially by her sister in law, Cheryl Davis who was more like a sister.

Surviving are her son, Allan Robert; daughter, Brandy Burney; grandchildren, Carleigh Wilkins and Eryka Burney; sister in law, Cheryl Davis and several nieces, nephews.

A joint celebration of life memorial service for Debbie and her husband, Chuck, will be held at noon, Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Long Leaf Baptist Church, 317 Shipyard Boulevard, Wilmington, NC 28412 with Pastor Joshua Riley officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to 317 Shipyard Boulevard, Wilmington, NC 28412.
