Debra "Debbie" Ann Rye, 58, of Burgaw passed from her earthly life to her eternal rest on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at home.

She was born February 5, 1955 in Fort Bragg to Janet Morrison Jackson of Fayetteville and the late Herbert H. Jackson. Also remembered is her husband, Michael Rye, who preceded Debra in death in 2005.

In addition to her mother, Debbie is survived by her daughter, Teresa A. Terranova of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Amaya A. Terranova and Julius M. Jones; brother, Butch Jackson of Fayetteville and niece, Amanda D. Williams.

Debbie was manager of Pender County Humane Society where her caring spirit shined brightly as she ministered to the many animals and issues that flowed through the humane society.

Debbie loved her family and was a joyful mother, daughter, grandmother, sister and aunt. Debbie had a generous nature and whether it was family, friends or complete strangers, she counted it all joy to give abundantly with all she had. All of those who worked with Debbie and knew her were impressed by her clever wit, great sense of humor and indomitable spirit. Her love, her laughter, her caring spirit will always be remembered.

A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 1, at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home, Burgaw Chapel.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
