Della Mae Brigman Covington, 84, of Wallace left this earthly life for her eternal rest on Friday, July 1, 2022.

She was born on April 28, 1938 in Columbia, SC and was the daughter of the late Carl and Lessie Stein Brigman.  Mrs. Covington is also predeceased by her husband, James Covington and her brother, Pete Brigman.

Surviving to cherish her memory is her devoted children, Robert Covington and partner, Greg Firestone of Wallace and Vicky Dawkins and her friend Angie Steelman of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Brandon Dawkins and Brandy Phagen and her husband Adam; great grandson, Landon Phagen, sister, Doris Grooms and husband Bobby of Lexington and numerous extenderd family and friends that loved her dearly.

Della was a loving mother and caring grandmother and sister.  She was proud of her family and she loved each of them unconditionally.  When her health permitted, Della was a diligent homemaker and with a joyful spirit she filled her home with love and welcomed all who entered. Della served Richmond Sr. High School for many years as manager of the school cafeteria.  Being a good neighbor and friend Della was loved by all who knew her. Her family is grateful to God for her life and her legacy.
