Obituary

Dessie Ilene Blair, 88, of Burgaw passed gently from her earthly life to her eternal rest on Monday, March 31, 2014 at Brian Center in Wallace.

She was born December 28, 1925 in Madison County, Illinois, the daughter of the late Fred Issac and Mindy Bailey McDaniel. Dessie lived in Illinois until at the age of 25 she moved to Florida. Florida remained her home until 1980 when Dessie went to live with her daughter, Vicki. Also remembered is her husband, J. B. Blair, who preceded Dessie in death.

Dessie was a member of Wallace First Assembly of God where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She was a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who enjoyed the simple things in life. Dessie was an accomplished seamstress, but most of all she loved serving her Lord. Cherished memories of Dessie remain in our hearts.

Dessie is survived by her daughters, Vicki Conoly (Michael) of Burgaw and Pam McFarland (Doug) of Huntsville, Alabama; grandchildren, Tim McFarland, Steven Bunn, Kathy Solario, Chris Roberts, Tuey Roberts and McKenzie Conoly; seven great grandchildren; and twin sister, Bessie I. Collier of Indiana.

Memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, April 4, 2014 at Wallace First Assembly of God with The Rev. Leo Bracken officiating. A time of sharing memories and fellowship will follow the service at the church.

A graveside service and burial of cremated remains will be at 2:00 pm on April 12, 2014 in Huntsville Memory Gardens in Huntsville, Alabama.
