Diane Elizabeth Koen, age 52, of Burgaw died Saturday, August 22, 2009 at Pender Memorial Hospital.

She was born December 4, 1956 in Baltimore, Md. and was the daughter of Robert and Ruth Hoffman Dors of Sykesville, Md.

Surviving in addition to her parents are her devoted husband of 35 years, Johnny M. Koen, Jr. of the home; daughter, Jenifer M. Koen Hardison (George) of Rocky Point; son, David William Koen (fiancee, Jeana M. Mitchell) of Atkinson; granddaughter, Samantha Hardison; sisters, Sandra Dors of Baltimore, Md. and Susan Dors of Columbia, Md.; and brothers, Robert Dors, Jr. of Sanford and Stephen Dors of Sykesville, Md.

Diane loved her family dearly and for the past 20 years even with her physical disability she remained the best wife, mother and grandmother that she could be. Her sweet spirit and beautiful smile will forever remain in our hearts.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with The Rev. Ronie Davis and Mrs. Sandra Davis officiating.

Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park.

Casketbearers will be George Hardison IV, Mark Prescott, Dallas Foster, Dale Koen, Robert Croom, and Michael Lavere.

The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home.
