Obituary

Diane Lines Pearsall, 72, of Rocky Point passed peacefully on Thursday at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center. The Gates of Heaven surely opened wide for this newest angel. She has been surrounded by family and friends throughout her 2 year battle with cancer.

She was born June 29, 1940 in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of the late Frank and Alpha Lines.

Diane is survived by her husband of 48 years, Charles E (Ed) Pearsall; sister, Sheila Barker (John) of Burgaw; and large extended family of in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Diane loved every one of Ed's Air Force assignments over a 30 year career serving throughout the world. Diane was totally unselfish and thoroughly enjoyed the gatherings of friends and family - especially those focused around the kitchen where her cooking skills and vast recipe collection kept everyone well fed. Those same skills and charm were just as effective with Ed's post-military business career; and even more so in retirement and the return to Ed's North Carolina home and extended family (leaving Minnesota's cold weather very far behind). She will be sorely missed by two Westies (her 6th and 7th).

Her radiant smile and charm reflected her Christian values and extraordinary faith. She was quietly generous with many charities and thrived on helping those most in need. She knew she was saved and was at complete Christian peace to either win the cancer battle or join Jesus in heaven.

A Celebration of Life for Diane will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Rocky Point United Method Church with the Reverend William Hill Pearsall officiating. A reception will follow in the Church Hall.
