Obituary

Dollie Henry Rivenbark, age 74 of Rocky Point died Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

She was born March 9, 1935 in Castle Hayne, the daughter of the late Ranford G and Mary Annie Woods Wells. She was predeceased by her husband, Johnson Timothy "Elmo" Rivenbark; son, Daryl Everette Henry; step-son, Glenn Rivenbark; sister, Elizabeth Penry and brothers, Larry Wells and Dennis Wells.

Surviving are her sons, Kenneth Michael Henry (Susan) of Hampstead and Kevin Scott Henry of Rocky Point; step children, Betty Jarman (Larry) of Currie, Wanda Moore (Robin) of Burgaw and Timothy Rivenbark (Tony) of Rocky Point; twelve grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; twin sister, Mary Moore of Rocky Mount and sisters-in-law, Becky Wells of Rocky Point and Jo Ann Wells Cavenaugh of Burgaw and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Rivenbark was a member of Rocky Point Baptist Church.

Dollie was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She found great joy in the simplest of things, but her greatest joy was family. She loved the outdoors; planting flowers and working in her yard as well as helping others in their yards. Dollie created a home filled with love and was a great cook and homemaker. She was blessed with a love for the Lord and a faith that took her through an extended illness. Dollie's family is grateful to God for her life, for your friendship and for your kindness and prayers.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 17, 2009 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with the Rev. Elbert Bradshaw officiating.

Burial will follow in Henry Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home, Burgaw.
