Donald "Don" Wayne Jones, 69, of Watha, passed from his earthly life on Sunday, March 29, 2020 at his home.

He was born September 27, 1950 in Pender County, the son of Norma Newton Jones of Wilmington and the late Wesley Ellis Jones. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Jones Davis.

In addition to his mother, Don is survived by his sister, Carol Holbrook (Wayne); brothers, James Kenneth "Kenny" Jones (Shirley) and Rickie E. Jones; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Don was retired from General Electric Company where he worked in the Aircraft Parts Manufacturing Division. He also served his country in the US Army. Loving the outdoors and living on his farm, Wayne enjoyed raising a small herd of cattle.

Once or twice every year Wayne traveled to the mountains which was his favorite place to visit. Wayne loved his family and never missed a family get-together. Wayne was loved and will be missed.

Due to current health concerns a memorial service for Donald "Don" Wayne Jones is planned for a later date.
