Donald Morris Paxton, age 76, of Hampstead, NC passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024.

He was born on March 19, 1947 in Pennsylvania to the late Joseph Paxton and Elizabeth Paxton.

Don grew up in Springfield Pa. and attended Union Collage in Barbourville, Kentucky.  He was a successful computer systems project manager working many years for NCR and AT&T.  Upon his retirement he moved to Hampstead, NC to indulge his passion of playing golf, sailing and enjoying sunny days on the beach.  In retirement, Don became an avid writer, publishing two novels and writing articles for his local newspaper.

Sports were important to Don who was often seen sailing his sailboat, playing golf or tennis with friends. He especially enjoyed the times he spent together with his brother and sister. He enjoyed nature, taking long walks on the beach and kayaking in the ICW near his home in Hamstead. Family was very important to Don. He was a loving father and brother, who will be dearly missed.

Donald is survived by his son, Jason Donald Paxton; daughter, Kimberly Paxton Arleth (Michael); brother, David Paxton (Paula); and sister, Judy Wolk (Michael), two nephews, two nieces and many cousins.

A memorial service will be held at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Wilmington on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 11am.
