Donald "Whitey" Grafton Wheeler, age 55, of Watha died Friday, January 2, 2009 at his residence.

He was born September 14, 1953 in Pender County and was the son of the late Oscar Forrest Wheeler and Gladys Moore Wheeler Fore.

Surviving are his wife, Peggy Dillon Wheeler; step daughters, Jodie Collins and Kamie Boyd, both of Wilmington; granddaughter, Shyann Boyd; brother, Wayne Wheeler and wife, Lou Ann of Leland; sisters, Myra Wheeler Dellolio of Lemar, TX, Emily Wheeler Zawacki and husband, Pete of Rocky Point, Gerry Wheeler Murray and husband, Everette of Wallace, Marilyn Wheeler Paulak and husband, Andrew of Little River, SC and Jackie Wheeler Sullivan and husband, Lloyd of Wilmington; loving mother-in-law, Lucille Roy of Wilmington; brothers-in-law, Charles Dillon of Wilmington and Pat Dillon of Port Arthur, TX and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel.

The family will receive friends immediately following the funeral service on Tuesday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Wallace until 5:00 pm.
