Dorette Brock Britt, 78, of Highland Village, TX and orginally from Kinston, North Carolina passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 surrounded by her family.

Dorette was born on March 4, 1943 in Duplin County, North Carolina and was the daughter of the late Oscar Cyrus and Vera Wallace Brock.  She was also predeceased by her brother, Chester Brock.

She is survived by her husband Richard D. Britt Sr., her two children Elizabeth Britt and her husband Jeff Smith and Richard D Britt Jr and his wife Jessica Britt; grandchildren, Ashley Dufrene, Crystal Murphy, Jacob Britt, Austin Britt, Renee Irizarry, Autumn Cabot, and John Cabot, and 6 great, great grandchildren; brother, Wayne Brock and his wife, Ernestine Brock of McKinny, TX and New Bern, NC; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family that loved Dorette dearly.

Dorette graduated from Kinston High School and went on to marry Richard D Britt Sr. After raising their two children, they moved to Highland Village, Texas in 1987 where they have been since. Dorette had a career in customer service and retired at the age of 62 with Eljer Industries. After she retired, she loved to spend time with her family, but especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved all the new babies in the family. Dorette was the most thoughtful person we all knew. She did so much for anyone around her and would have given the world to make sure they were all happy and healthy. She was known for her kind and compassionate spirit and her infectious smile. As a devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, we are all going to miss Dorette dearly.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00a.m. on Saturday morning, August 28, 2021 at Brock Family Cemetery, NC Hwy 50, Rose Hill, NC with the Reverend Merrell McCoy officiating.
