Doris Smith Bradshaw, 85, of Rose Hill left this life for her eternal rest on Tuesday, September 29, 2020.

She was born on April 27, 1935 in Pender County to the late Hugh and Barbara Basden Smith. She was also preceded in death by her six siblings.

Doris is survived by loving husband of 59 years, Milton Bradshaw of the home; her son, Michael "Mike" Bradshaw of Rose Hill; her nephew and his wife, David and Kathy Bradshaw and their children, Izzy and Davis "D" Bradshaw; nieces, Angie Woodcock, Lindsay Woodcock and Terresa Ann Croom; sister-in-law, Jean Baker of Fayetteville and numerous extended family and friends.

Doris was a devoted wife and caring mother.  She enjoyed the simplest things in life but her great joy was family.  Growing up in a family of nine, Doris learned how to work hard.  She enjoyed working in her yard and gardening.  Doris took great pride in her yard and kept it immaculate as long as she was able.  Being a diligent homemaker and great cook, Doris filled her home with love and welcomed all who entered. She was a strong but gentle lady who loved her family.  Doris will surely be missed.

Graveside service will be held on Friday, October 2, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Rockfish Memorial Cemetery Wallace, NC.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial gifts be given to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC  28401.
