Doris Wells Dorman, age 81, of Wixom, Michigan and formerly of Watha passed from her earthly life to her eternal rest on Thursday January 20, 2011 in Michigan.

She was born July 31, 1929 in New Hanover County and was the daughter of the late John D. and Viola Nelson Wells. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Evans Dorman, in 2002.

Loving mother of Connie (Rick) Hall, Kendra (Rick) Fowler, Cynthia (Bob) Short, Ronald (Joyce) Dorman, and Barry Dorman; cherished grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; her dear sister, Betty Stokes and many extended family and friends who loved her dearly.

Doris was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. Doris enjoyed the simple things in life, but her greatest joy was family. She loved the Lord and lived her life as a Christian example to others. Cherished memories of Doris will always remain in our hearts.

The funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Castle Hayne Church of God with The Rev. Andrew Ottaway officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Castle Hayne Church of God.
