Obituary

Doris Rouse Knapp, age 75, of Wilmington passed away on Friday, May 27, 2016 from New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

She was born on November 7, 1940 in Duplin County and was the daughter of the late Herman and Alma Walker Rouse.

Surviving is her loving children, Harry Hunter (Tonia) of Jacksonville, Karen Bradstreet (Mike) of Wilmington and Scott Knapp (Melissa) of Richlands; grandchildren, Tyler Smith, Nicholas Hunter, Jason Hunter, Johnathan Knapp and Avery Knapp; great-grandson, Hunter Smith; her sisters, Hazel Simpson (Harold) of Watha, Betty Owens (Ronnie) of Watha and Diane Miller of Fountaintown and numerous nieces, nephews and friends who loved Doris dearly.

Doris was a devoted mother and caring grandmother and sister. She was a simple lady who adored her family especially the "apples of her eye", her grandchildren. With a big heart and gentle spirit Doris always wanted the best for her family. She was a special woman who loved her family and friends. Doris will surely be missed but treasured memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Memorial service will be held at 3:00pm on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home, Wallace Chapel with the Reverend Otis King officiating.

Inurnment will follow at Riverview Memorial Park, Watha.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00pm on Tuesday, one hour prior the memorial service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial gifts be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
