Dorothy Peterson Bettis, age 74, of Leland died Thursday, December 11, 2008 at Brunswick Cove Nursing Home.

She was born September 7, 1934 in Delco and was the daughter of the late Johnnie and Nellie Lennon Peterson.

Surviving are her husband, Howard Bettis of the home; daughter, Dorothy Adams of Leland; son, Johnnie G. Bettis of Columbus, MD; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sisters, Madelyn Hughes of Delco and Leona Parrish of Smithfield; brother, Calvin Peterson (Elaine) of Salisbury, MD and several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy loved her family dearly and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Cherished memories of Dorothy will forever remain in our hearts.

Graveside funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2008 at Oleander Memorial Gardens with The Reverend Bob Collins officiating.
