Dorothy Mae DeMello, 81, of Wilmington passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

She was born August 2, 1930 in Wilmington and was the daughter of the late William Randolph and Addie Mae Merritt Robbins. She was also preceded in death by sons, Robert Wayne DeMello and James Ray DeMello; daughter, Beverly Kay DeMello; brothers, William and Eldon Robbins and a sister, Doris Robbins.

Dorothy is survived by a son, Derl Joseph DeMello of Wilmington; sister, Shirley Chadwick and husband, Tommy of Wilmington; brother, Hubert Robbins and wife, Jean of Elizabethown; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She loved the Lord, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Among her favorite pastimes was her enjoyment of reading. Dorothy's memory is blessed and will never be forgotten.

A memorial service will be 3:00 PM, Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home, Bradley Creek Chapel.
