Dorothy Strickland Herberson, age 75, of Burgaw passed peacefully from her earthly life on Monday, August 16, 2010 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center with her sister, Betty, holding her hand.

She was born March 3, 1935 in Faison and was the daughter of the late Walter Alexander Strickland and Esther Beard Strickland. Also remembered are her husband, Walter Herberson; sisters, Gertrude Nicholson and Ruth Saltis and brothers, C. A., Leo and Ray Strickland.

Dorothy is survived by her sister, Betty S. Rivenbark of Watha and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
