Dorothy Corbett Register, age 95 of Wilmington died Thursday, October 22, 2009 at Clare Bridge of Wilmington.

She was born January 2, 1914 in Pender County, NC, the daughter of the late Zebulon Vance and Sattie Pridgen Corbett. After her marriage in 1942 to the late William Bruce Register she lived in Atkinson, NC and was a member for many years of Atkinson Baptist Church. The last years of her life she resided in Wilmington and was a faithful member of Winter Park Baptist Church.

Remembered are her late sisters, Erla Hall, Mary Core, Ruth Franz, Joyce Peterson, Edith Powell, Virginia Corbett, and Elna Pearson and her late brothers, Cecil, Emmett, and Bayard Corbett. Surviving Dorothy is a sister-in-law, Lillian Corbett. Left behind with wonderful memories are twenty nieces and nephews from Florida to Michigan whom she loved as if they were her own children.

A visitation will be at 12 noon until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2009 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with the Rev. Mark Teachey officiating. Burial will follow in Register Family Cemetery, NC Hwy 53 between US Hwy 421 and Atkinson.
