Dorothy Kelly Reher, age 78, of Kelly died Sunday, October 11, 2009 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

She was born November 12, 1930 in Bladen County; the daughter of the late Sinclair Kelly and Hattie Russ Kelly Merrell. She was preceded in death by her sons, Eddie Reher and Bernie Reher; granddaughter, Teresa Reher and brother, Robert Kelly.

Surviving are her husband, John Edward Reher of the home; daughter, Wanda Sue Reher of Kelly; son, Michael Reher of Kelly; grandchildren, Jeremy Reher and Keri Lee Reher; five great grandchildren; sisters, Carol Vereen (Leo) of Wilmington, Janice Corbett (Harry) of Kelly, Rita Benjey (Terrance) and Judy Sawyer (Louis), both of Wilmington; sister-in-law, Carole Kelly of Newport News, VA and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Reher was a member of Centerville Baptist Church.

Dorothy loved her family dearly and showed it in so many ways. She was a caring, giving and thoughtful lady who always put others before herself. Cherished memories of Dorothy will forever remain in our hearts.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Friday, October 16, 2009 at Centerville Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Wade, the Rev. Winfield Kelly and the Rev. Paul Berry officiating.

Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Kelly.

The family will receive friends 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Friday, one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.

Casketbearers will be Louis Sawyer, Lou Sawyer, Phil Corbett, Randy Corbett, Trip Bell, Ashley Bell and Steve Squires.
