Dorothy Blanton Wrought, age 75, of New Bern and formerly of Farmville and Wallace left this earthly life for her eternal rest on Sunday, July 31, 2011 at Carolina East Medical Center in New Bern.

She was born February 7, 1936 in Pender County and was the daughter of the late John Henry and Sallie Rivenbark Blanton. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Mary B. Padgett and Alice B. Adams.

Dorothy was a member of First Baptist Church of Farmville.

Surviving to cherish her memory is her devoted husband of 58 years, Donald J. Wrought; sons; David J. Wrought and wife, Jodie of Grimesland, Michael A. Wrought of Washington, NC and William H. Wrought and wife, Deidre of Pollocksville; daughter, Donna W. Waters and husband, Tuell of Washington, NC; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sisters, Elma Pierce and husband, Archie of Hampstead and Betty Heaton and husband, Pinckney of Clinton; brothers, Tommie Blanton and wife, Althea and Johnny \\"Buddy\\" Blanton and wife, Dorothy, all of Wallace and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel with the Reverend Macon Wood officiating.

Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park, Watha.

Casketbearers will be Dorothy's sons; David J. Wrought, Michael A. Wrought, William H. Wrought and Tuell Waters.

Honorary casketbearers will be her nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 am Thursday, one hour prior the funeral service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given in Dorothy's memory to the American Cancer Society 930-B Wellness Drive, Greenville, NC 27834.
