Doshie Ann Watkins Justice went to be with her Lord on Sunday. January 24, 2010. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Born April 18, 1938 in Nakina, she was the daughter of the late Jim and Sylvia Ann Ward Turner. She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Ward and sister, Pearl Burton. For many years Ann lived in Wilmington, spending her last precious years in the care of her son and daughter-in-law, David and Rose Watkins as well as her sons, Robert, Ray and John.

Ann leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband, Luther B. "Ben" Justice of Winnabow; sons, David Watkins (Rose) of Leland, Robert Watkins (Deborah Barbour) of Wilmington, Ray Watkins (Linda) of Jacksonville, IL and John Watkins of Leland; six grandsons; seven great grandchildren; brother, Roy Turner (Lois) of Thomasville; sisters, Mary Keziah (John) of Charlotte and Jeannette English (Ray) of Wilmington; several cousins, nieces and nephews and her beloved canine companions, Eddie and Evie.

Doshie Ann loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She found great joy in the simplest of things, but her greatest joy was family. She loved family gatherings, flea markets, garage sales, flowers, gardening, and being outdoors in God's beautiful world. Doshie Ann was blessed with a love for people and was a caregiver to many friends, neighbors and relatives. She was active in her church through the years and was blessed with a love for the Lord and a faith that took her through an extended illness. She will be remembered for her warm heart, beautiful smile and outgoing personality. Doshie Ann's family is grateful to God for her life, for your friendship and for your kindness and prayers.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January, 27, 2010 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with Elder William M. Benton, Sr. officiating.

Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Casketbearers will be Robert Watkins II, David Watkins, Jr., Ryan Watkins, Nicholas Watkins, Josh Watkins, and Jason Watkins, all grandsons of Doshie Ann.

The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home, Burgaw and at other times will be at the home of Doshie Ann Justice in Wilmington.

Memorial gifts may be given to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Dr., Wilmington, NC 28401.

Doshie Ann's family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the caring staff of Lower Cape Fear Hospice for the excellent and compassionate care given to Doshie Ann during her illness.
