Douglas Edward Kestler, 46, of Castle Hayne passed from his earthly life on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

He was born October 9, 1974 in Nassau County, New York, and is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Kestler.

Douglas is survived by his mother, Karen Kestler; brothers, Thomas Kestler, Andrew Kestler, and Erik Kestler; sister, Emily Kestler; nephews, Jackson Kestler and Kameron Kestler; niece, Madison Kestler; and many close friends.

"Dodo," as Douglas was affectionately called, loved to watch movies. He was many things to many people. However, the one thing that all would agree with is that he made everyone around him feel special, especially his nephews and niece. They in turn, loved him greatly. Douglas was also a devoted brother to his sister Emily. He surrounded himself with the greatest of friends, Mike Rivenbark, Mike Boone, Dale Youman, Harry Pfaff, Vanessa Avalos, and Stephanie D. Johnson and will be greatly missed by so many.
