Dr. Harry D. Thomas, Jr., age 63, of Burgaw died Friday, March 26, 2010 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

He was born May 6, 1946 in Sanford, the son of Idell Andrews Thomas of Burgaw and the late Harry D. Thomas, Sr. Also lovingly remembered is his daughter, Lauren Rose Thomas who passed from her earthly life in 1991.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his loving family; his wife Roseanne Thomas; daughters, Lynsey Anne Thomas of Charlotte, Lesley Trent Thomas of Wilmington and Lisa Ellyn Thomas of Charlotte; brothers, Richard Andrew Thomas and his wife, Kathyrn "Katie", and Thomas "Tommy" Lowell Thomas and his wife, Susan; nephew, Drew Thomas; niece, Eilish Thomas; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Dr. Thomas completed his undergraduate studies at NC State University, graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill School of Dentistry and then practiced dentistry in Burgaw for 27 years. He was a member of NC Dental Society and the American Orthodontic Society.

Harry was a devoted husband and loving daddy, son and brother. He was an excellent dentist with care and concern for all of his patients. He was a good man and helping others came quite natural to him. Harry was the best friend one could have. His gentle smile, his command of every situation and especially his love for his dear family will always be remembered.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Friendly Community Baptist Church with Pastor Phillip Jones and Pastor Frankie Seamster officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to a charity of your choice in honor and memory of Harry.
