Hogan

Dr. Robert J. Hogan, age 76, passed away peacefully at home on August 2, 2021 in Wilmington, NC after an extended illness. He was surrounded by his loving daughters, Erin Kane Hogan Meiser, Marne Kane Hogan, Molly Kane Hogan and his pride and joy grandchildren, Hogan E. Meiser and Quinn McKinney Meiser.
He was born on March 22, 1945 to the late William L. Hogan and Marion E. McKinney.
Dr. Hogan was a 1967 graduate of the University of Notre Dame, and a 1971 graduate of the University of Buffalo School of Dentistry. He served in the United States Army as a dentist 1971-1973 before settling in Binghamton, NY for his career for 40 years.
In 2016 he moved to NC to enjoy his retirement with his daughters and grandchildren.
Dr. Hogan greatly loved his alma mater, University of Notre Dame, and also Lourdes Camp on Skaneateles Lake, where he was a camper, counselor, and later served on the board of directors for many years.
All who knew Dr. Hogan admired his humble generosity and witty sense of humor. He was tremendously loved by all his patients and devoted staff.
Dr. Hogan was predeceased by his oldest brother, William J. Hogan, and youngest brother, Gerald F. Hogan, and by sister-in-law, Anne Mullins Hogan.
He is survived by three brothers, John G., Thomas M. (Kathleen), Richard P. (Sheryl), and by four sisters, Mary Theobald (Bruce), Ellen Gannon (John), Teresa Long (John), and Anne Brown (Ivan), and sisters-in-law, Anne Jadick Hogan and Donna O'Brien Hogan and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Dr. Hogan loved golf and traveling with his daughters. His favorite trips included Ireland, Italy, and most recently the Holy Land with Saint Mark Catholic Church.
Dr. Hogan was a lifelong, faithful Catholic. A mass will be offered at St Mary's of the Lake in Skaneateles August 13, 2021 at 10:00 am. He will be interred at St. Mark Catholic Church in Wilmington, NC.
