Durward Allen
Raynor, Sr.
Feb 19, 1957 — Jun 22, 2017
Durward Allen Raynor, Sr., age 60, left this earthly life for his eternal rest on Thursday, June 22, 2017 from New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
Allen was born February 19, 1957 in New Hanover County. He was blessed with very special people in his life; the late Lloyd Graham and Ethel Mae Norris, Nellie Norris and his parents, the late Mutt and Ellen Hewette Raynor. He was also predeceased by his half-sister, Sylvia.
Allen was a dedicated member of Willard Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.
Surviving to cherish his memory is his son, Durward Allen "Buddy" Raynor, Jr. and wife, Alison; his daughter, Christy Raynor, all of Wallace; grandson, Baines Allen Raynor; sister, Maxine Pender and husband, Clyde of Wilmington; niece, Tammy Langley and husband, Tom of Wilmington; great niece, Jade Edens; great nephew, Taylor Shaw; half-sisters, Sondra and Teresa and numerous extended family and friends that loved Allen dearly.
Allen was a simple man who was respected and loved by those who knew him. He loved his family, farming and working along side his children. Being a man of great compassion and kindness, Allen was always willing to lend a helping hand to friends, family or anyone in need. He loved his church and his Lord and demonstrated his faith in God by the way he lived his life. He enjoyed singing but he especially enjoyed having gospel sings at his barn. Allen will surely be missed but treasured memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Funeral service will be held at 2: 00pm on Monday, June 26, 2017 at Willard PFWB Church with his Pastor Rodney Bonham officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00pm, one hour prior to the service at the church.
A private family burial will be held at Raynor Family Cemetery following the service.
Allen's family would like to thank everyone for the love and support that was shown to them during Allen's sickness and during these difficult days.
