Durwood Daughtrey, 70, of Delco and formerly of Currie passed from his earthly life to his eternal rest on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at his home.

He was born July 9, 1943 in Currie and was the son of Odell and Margaret Lewis Daughtrey.

Durwood is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 43 years, Judy Lewis Daughtrey; daughters, Nancy Church and Tresa Dugger (David); sons, Jason Daughtrey and Douglas Taylor (Tina); 12 grandchildren; two great grandsons; sisters, Barbara Smith, Joyce Miller (Barry), Frankie Saunders (Louis), and Janice Daughtrey; brothers, Everett Earl Daughtery, James Albert Daughtrey (Nina), and Ernie Daughtrey (Kay); and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Durwood loved his family and was a devoted husband, daddy, granddaddy, brother and friend. He was a hard worker and always had a kind word to share. The past several years due to Durwood's many health concerns were difficult for Durwood and Judy, but they kept the faith and maintained a positive attitude. Cherished memories of Durwood will always remain in our hearts.

Following Durwood's request there will be no services held. Remember Durwood with fond memories and keep his family in your heart and prayers.
