E. J. Long, age 49, of Burgaw died Monday, December 13, 2010 at his residence.

He was born November 22, 1961 in Pender County and was the son of Bonnie Faye Lewis of Burgaw and the late Ernest James Long.

In addition to his mother E. J. is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly Long of the home; sons, Zachary Barnes, Christopher Haltom, E. J. Long III and Eric Long; sister, Wendy Long Ott of Burgaw and brother, Earl Long of Burgaw.

E. J. was an excellent carpenter and was a part of the construction of many homes and businesses in the area. He was a devoted husband and loving daddy, son, brother and friend. E. J. enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends. With his witty, jovial personality he always lifted the spirits of those around him. Cherished memories of E. J. will always remain in our hearts.

A memorial service will be at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at The Pentecostals of Burgaw, 1565 NC Hwy 53 W, Burgaw.
