Eddie Cleveland
Deal
May 1, 1926 — Nov 20, 2013
Eddie Cleveland Deal, 87, of Burgaw died at home on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 as his beloved wife and daughters surrounded him with prayer for his peaceful passing and their prayers were answered.
He was born May 1, 1926 in Clinton, the son of the late Isaac Ray and Beulah Croom Deal. Eddie was preceded in death by his wife, Coleen Deal; an infant son, Timothy Deal; step-son, Ronnie Bond; brothers, Richard, Walter, Charles, Haywood, George, and Harry Deal; and sister, Reba Lewis.
Eddie is survived by his wife of almost 16 years, Elizabeth Teachey Deal; daughters, Cathy Bryan (Johnny), Susie Pierce (Allen), Debbie Justice (Steve), Kay McDougald (Sonny), Kim Grant, and Tammy Bryan (Paul); step-son, Randy Bond (Kathy); 17 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and extended family all who dearly loved Eddie.
Eddie served his country proudly in the US Navy during WW II. For 33 years he was employed with Civil Service at Camp Lejeune. Never being an idle man, he embarked on a second career as a poultry farmer. He was a faithful member of Cora's Grove Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.
Eddie was a man of God who served his Lord, family and country. Not only was he a beloved husband and a wonderful daddy, granddaddy, and brother; but a caring and generous friend to many. He lived his life by the Word of God and set a Christian example in his daily life. Eddie would say to us today, "Remember me not with tears of sorrow, for my destiny is complete and I am smiling while in God's tender care." He has left to us the gifts of strength, courage and faith which is and always will be Eddie's legacy.
