Obituary

Edmond "Eddie" Scott Stevens, age 55, of Currie died unexpectedly on Sunday, October 31, 2010 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

He was born December 31, 1954 in Brooklyn, New York, the devoted son of the late George Stevens and Adele Goldstein Stevens.

Surviving are his wife, Cynthia Stevens; brother, Mitchell (Stephanie) Stevens of Saugerties, New York; sister-in-law, Carol (Michael) Caufield of Connecticut and Baldhead Island; nephew, Brian Stevens; nieces, Lindsay (Mike) Cooper, Cristin Caufield, Rian Caufield, Kellye Caufield, and Casey Caufield; great nephew, Steve Cooper; \\"grandson\\" Malachi Murray and many caring extended family and friends.

Eddie attended Brooklyn College and New York Technical College, graduating first in his class and receiving a degree in Optical Science. For 15 years he and Cynthia owned Pildes Optical located on Broadway in Manhattan, New York. After closing the optical business Eddie and Cynthia relocated in rural North Carolina to enjoy a slower pace in life.

First and foremost, Eddie loved his family. With his quick wit and outgoing personality he made friends easily that lasted a lifetime. Eddie loved all of God's nature, music and as long as his health permitted was an avid golfer. His love of life, laughter and family will remain wonderful memories for family and friends.

Graveside funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 4, 2010 at Long Bluff Cemetery on Tram Road, Currie with Rabbi Robert Waxman officiating.

The family will receive friends 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Burgaw.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts in memory of Eddie Stevens may be given to Pender County Humane Society, PO Box 626, Burgaw, NC 28425 or to the charity of your choice.
