Obituary

"II Corinthians 5:8 ... to be absent from the body and be present with the Lord"

On May 26, Edna, 93, came into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

She was born in 1922 in Pitt County, the only daughter of the late Joseph and Juanita Smith McGlohon. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Marion Moore Jr. and brother, Neil McGlohon.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda M. Tapp (Keith) of Wake Forest and Robin M. Goodson (Kemmy) of Wilmington; grandchildren, Jonna, Jill, and Jenny; great grandchildren Rylen, Jack, Jasey and Emmie; brother, Joe McGlohon (Betty) of Penderlea and nieces and cousins.

For many years Edna Earle was a faithful member of Long Creek Baptist Church. Some of her happiest years were lived in that church and neighborhood. It was a joyful time.

Edna Earle and Robert set high standards for their daughters and diligently instilled in them the life lessons she and Robert felt were important; among them a commitment to their faith, family, friendships and community. She lived and taught a sense of selflessness, compassion for others and a love for the simple things in life. Enda Earle being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend will be missed by all.

The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 30, 2016 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with service at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Michael Taylor will conduct the service. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park.

Memorial gifts may be given in her memory to Long Creek Baptist Church, 2131 Malpass Corner Road, Burgaw, NC 28425 or the HELP Center where her puzzle-buddy, Jill attends, 500 Kenwood Ave, Wilmington, NC 28405.

The family would like to thank Lower Cape Fear Hospice staff for all their tender care. Also, thank you to Meals On Wheels deliverers, especially Lily! God Bless you all.
