Edward Daniel Brown, 85, of Burgaw Passed gently from his earthy life Friday, April 9, 2021 at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare.

He was born April 14, 1935 in Ivanhoe, the son of Foster James Brown and Gertrude Elizabeth Piner Brown. Also lovingly remembered is his wife of 48 years, Lois Marie Cottle Brown; sons, Allen Brown and Stanley Brown; brothers, Vernon Edworth Brown and Norman James Brown; and sister, Christine Elizabeth Brown, all who preceded Edward in death.

Edward is survived by his devoted family; sons, Jeffrey Brown (Laura), Joseph Brown, and Jason Brown (Penny); daughter, Edwina Knight (D.C.); grandchildren, Shayn Brown, Dustin Brown, Christina Brown, Olivia Brown, Megan Brown, Casey Brown, Amber B. Jones (Cory), Lucas Knight and Valerie; and many extended family and friends.

He served his country proudly and honorably in the US Army. By trade Edward was an exceptional welder, working for and retiring from Babcock and Wilcox Company.

Edward was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and loyal friend. He lived a life of humility, honesty, and hard work. Being a Jack of All Trades, Edward could make any job he undertook work. Edward always found time for camping, mountain trips, hunting, fishing and just being outdoors in God's beautiful world of nature. Edward's passing leaves an empty place in our family circle and in the hearts of all who loved him.

A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 12, 2021 at Riverview Memorial Park with the Rev. William Hill Pearsall conducting the service. The family will visit with friends at the cemetery following the service.
