Edward Neil Fincannon, 72, called Ed by family and Buddy by friends passed from his earthly life Saturday, July 11, 20226 at home.

He was born January 29, 1954 in Wilmington, the son of the late Warlick Temple Fincannon and Doris Irene Barnes Fincannon, who died at an early age leaving young children for Warlick Temple to raise. Later Warlick married Eunice Horne Fincannon.

In addition to his step-mother, Eunice, Ed is survived by his siblings, Peggy Fincannon Bowker, Lisa Fincannon Best, Mark Temple Fincannon, and Gary Dale Fincannon; half-brothers, James Warlick Fincannon (Joy) and Jerry Kelvin Fincannon (Jodi); many nieces and nephews.

Edward retired from DuPont and continued to live life to the fullest, always keeping busy and never sitting idle for long. He enjoyed many hobbies, including snow skiing, fishing, shooting pool, and feeding the deer. In earlier years, he also spent time at the bowling alley, where he enjoyed the sport and the camaraderie it brought. Known affectionately in his neighborhood as the “neighborhood caretaker,” Buddy was always looking out for others and lending a helping hand whenever needed.
