Edward Robert
Weinberg

Starts at 1:00 pm
Edward Robert Weinberg, 83, of Wilmington, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare.
He was born February 4, 1943, in the Bronx, New York, to Jack and Goldie Weinberg.
Ed is survived by his beloved wife, Lee Ann; his son, Mike Weinberg and his wife, Katie; his daughter, Jodi Adams and her husband, William "Trace" Adams III; his grandchildren, Corey Weinberg and his wife, Sydney, Haley Weinberg and her fiancé, Noah Costabilo, Kurt Weinberg, Will Adams, Tyler Adams; his great-grandchildren, Charlotte Weinberg, Joanna Weinberg; and his sister, Anita LeBow and her husband, Jay.
Ed's life was defined by God's grace, his love for Jesus, and his devotion to family. He found great joy in building up others—supporting pastors and church leaders in a variety of capacities, and faithfully leading a men's community group for more than a decade. The group's guiding principle was one he lived by himself: "We are not here to fix each other; our call is to love, challenge, and point one another to Christ."
Of all his roles in life, Ed's favorite was being "Papa Eddie." His grandchildren and great-grandchildren adored him, and he delighted in them even more. Family vacations were made sweeter by his standing decree that ice cream must be indulged in every day.
Ed enjoyed a long and successful career in sales leadership, serving as a manager, trainer, and executive. Yet those closest to him knew that his greatest fulfillment came not from business accomplishments, but from investing in people. He loved spending time with friends and family, engaging in lively conversation, sharing wisdom, and offering perspective on just about any subject.
After retiring to Wilmington, Ed decided he needed a southern nickname and began jokingly referring to himself as "Eddie-Bob." He also tremendously enjoyed his weekly golf outing at The Muni with his rotating foursome of golf buddies who collectively razzed him about his game and his uncanny ability to "accidentally" drive the golf cart into bunkers or onto pedestrian bridges!
He was the kind of person who never met a stranger and rarely left a conversation without offering a sweet prayer on the spot, a bit of encouragement, a lesson, or a story to make his point unforgettable.
While we grieve the loss of Ed's presence, we also celebrate the hope he found in Christ and the promise of Jesus in John 11:25: "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die."
A Celebration of Life service will be held at The Bridge Church, 2101 Market Street, Wilmington at 1:00pm on June 20, 2026.
