Edward Ervin Williams, age 73, of Hampstead and formerly of Wallace left this earthly life for his eternal home on Friday, July 13, 2012.
Born on April 1, 1939 in Duplin County, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Mary Pierce Williams. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Janet Foley Williams; brothers, Terry Glenn Williams, Macy Williams; sisters, Eva Brown Whaley, Emily Williams, and "Baby Gal".
Surviving to cherish his memory are his loving children, Michael Edward Williams of Wallace, Donna Branson (John) of Hampstead and Joey Williams of Wallace; grandchildren, Michael Anthony Williams, Nicholas Edward Williams, Crystal Renee Ramsey, Joseph Aaron Belcher, Joey Anthony Williams II and Sarah Elizabeth Williams; great grandchildren, Logan Tyler Grimes and Gaige White; brother, Mickey Williams (Sara); sisters, Rachel Bond (Howard) and Minnie Williams as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Edward was a caring father, grandfather and brother who loved his family dearly. With a big heart and caring spirit, he never met a stranger. As a life-long insurance agent, Ed developed lasting friendships that he cherished throughout the years. He enjoyed laughing and making others laugh and talking about his childhood. Ed was a strong yet gentle presence to all who were blessed to know him. He will surely be missed but special memories will forever remain in the heart of all who knew and loved him.
Memorial service will be 4:00 pm on Sunday July 15, 2012 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel with Mr. Frank Murray officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial gifts be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCareCenter Foundation, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
