Elizabeth Page Holly, age 86, of Burgaw died Thursday, February 12, 2009 at Huntington Health Care of Burgaw.

She was the wife of Howard Holly who preceded her in death in 1986. She was born July 31, 1922 in Pender County and was the daughter of the late Albert Haywood and Eva Pridgen Page. Elizabeth was also preceded in death by her sisters, Louise P. Anderson and Thelma P. Ourt and her brother, Haywood M. Page.

Surviving are her sister-in-law, Annette Page of Burgaw; eleven nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Holly was a graduate of East Carolina Teachers College (now East Carolina University) in Greenville, NC. She taught school in New Hanover, Forsyth and Pender Counties for 38 years. She was a member of Pender County Historical Society, Retired Teachers Organization, and N. C. Beta Eta Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa.

She was a member of Burgaw Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school in the children's department for many years, was active in the W. M. U., and sang in the church choir.

Elizabeth was a devoted, loving and caring wife, aunt and sister. She was a committed Christian, a dedicated educator and a faithful friend. Her warm heart and gentle spirit will long be remembered.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 16, 2008 at Burgaw Baptist Church with The Rev. Dr. Wayne Dyer and The Rev. Dr. Robert Phillips officiating.

Burial will follow in Burgaw Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Blany M. Page, Albert Haywood Page II, Frederick Charlton Ourt II, Randall Albert Ourt, Robert J. Ourt, Stephen Darrell Anderson, Charles Wells and Charles White.

The family will receive friends 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home, Burgaw.
