Obituary

Elaine Rivenbark Foster, 84, of Burgaw passed peacefully from her earthly life to her eternal rest on Saturday, September 15, 2012, at Pender Memorial Hospital with loving family at her bedside.

She was born August 23, 1928 in New York, New York to Fred and Bertha Stevens Perkins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Rivenbark in 1989.

Elaine is survived by her loving family; her husband, Robert "Bob" Foster; daughters, Bertha "Bertie" Larimore (Dargan "Dink") of Burgaw and Virginia "Ginny" Evans (Robert) of Loris, SC; son, Harry Rivenbark, Jr. (Karen) of Leland; grandchildren, Misty White, Chris Sutton, Tara Flemming (Jonathan), Andrew Edwards, and Brandi Rivenbark; Great grandchildren, Rachael Flemming, Jacob Flemming and Thomas White; and many extended family and friends.

Elaine was a member of Burgaw Baptist Church. Many will remember Elaine's smiling face at Dee's Drug Store where she worked for many years.

Elaine was a joy to know and loved her family above all else. For the past several years she has been in declining health and was lovingly cared for by her family just as she cared for them until she was no longer able. Elaine's faith in the Lord, her glorious smile and her gentle spirit will always be remembered.

Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 17, 2012 at Riverview Memorial Park with the Rev. Nathan Morton officiating.

The family will receive friends 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Burgaw.

Memorial gifts may be given to Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation, 1414 Physicians Dr., Wilmington, NC 28401.
