Elbert Edward Littleton, age 66, of Burgaw died Monday, June 1, 2009 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

He was born December 20, 1942 in Duplin County and was the son of the late Edward Graham Littleton and Dorothy Brown Littleton. He was also predeceased by a brother, Aaron Littleton.

Surviving are his loving wife of thirty-eight years, Barbara "Bobbie" Turner Littleton of the home; son, James "Jamie" Littleton of Burgaw; granddaughter, Brooke Royal of Burgaw; brother, Graham B. Littleton and his wife, Charlene of Burgaw and several nieces and nephews.

Elbert was a quiet gentleman who loved his family dearly. His mantra in life was "a man's word is his bond", a belief that Elbert lived by. Elbert enjoyed the simple things in life - his garden, NASCAR, and his dog, Muffin; but most important was his family. Cherished memories of Elbert will forever remain in our hearts.

Graveside funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2009 at Riverview Memorial Park with The Reverend John Fedoronko officiating.

The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Burgaw.
