Morgan, Jr.
Aug 29, 1939 — Dec 5, 2013
Elbert Donald "Pop" Morgan, Jr., 74, of Rocky Point passed from his earthly life to his eternal rest on Thursday, December 5, 2013.
He was born August 29, 1939 in Johnston County, the son of the late Elbert Donald Morgan, Sr. and Leitha Lynn Poole Morgan. Also remembered is his daughter, Susan Morgan and brother, Raymond, both who preceded Donald in death.
Donald is survived by his daughter, Jennifer M. Hill of Surf City; sons, Scott Morgan (Debbie) of Rocky Point, Sam Morgan (Candace) of Rocky Point; David Morgan (Karrie) of Wilmington and Dennis Morgan (Amelia) of Poquoson, Virginia; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; sisters, Lynn Beeson (Caleb) of Colfax and Ann Brown (Billy) of Clayton; brother, Dwight Morgan (Faye) of Wilmington; special friend, Chris Jackson; and many extended family, all who loved "Pop".
Donald, affectionately called "Pop", loved his family and was a great dad, granddaddy and brother. In his younger years he enjoyed golf and bowling. Pop lived life to the fullest, making the most of every turn of events. His home was filled with love, laughter, his six children, their friends and there was always room for one more. Donald was widely known as an excellent fisherman and hunter, in fact, his most enjoyable passion was hunting and spending time at the hunting camp. He gave his best to all and always looked for the good in others. Cherished memories of our "Pop" will forever remain in our hearts.
