Eleanor
Gerganous
Nov 20, 1927 — Apr 1, 2024
Eleanor Armstrong Gerganous went peacefully to be with her Heavenly Father on April 1, 2024.
She was preceded in death by parents Ruth Simpson Armstrong and Richard James Armstrong and her loving husband, Andrew Carlyle Gerganous. She was preceded in death by a number of siblings.
Eleanor has three children who adored her, Pamela Stoehr (Gary), Debbie Ashe (Wayne), and Carl Gerganous (Tammy); seven precious grandchildren and eight adorable great grandchildren.
She grew up in the Baptist Church and was a faithful member of Rocky Point Methodist Church all of her married life. She was a stay-at-home mother and enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts, and substitute teaching and was an avid reader. She especially enjoyed reading medical books and doctoring her family. She always had a large garden and froze vegetables and canned food to share with the whole family.
The family will receive friends at 10:00 on Friday, April 5, 2024 at Rocky Point Methodist Church with funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the church sanctuary. The Rev. Thomas Melton and The Rev. William Hill Pearsall will conduct the service.
The burial will follow in Riley's Creek Memorial Cemetery.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to a Hospice of your choosing. Hospice provided wonderful care for Eleanor for several years.
Shared memories and condolences may be sent to the family by selecting Tribute Wall.
A service of Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel.
