Eleanor Charlotte Rivenbark Lanier, age 85, of Wallace left this earthly life for her eternal rest on Thursday, June 29, 2023.
She was born on September 11, 1937, in Sampson County and was the daughter of the late Preston Earl and Etta Mae Cockman Rivenbark. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Evelyn Lanier Powell; her siblings, Preston E. Rivenbark, Jr., Elizabeth Taylor, Francis Rivenbark, Joseph Rivenbark, Bobby Rivenbark, Waylon Rivenbark, Rupert Rivenbark, Jimmy Rivenbark, Linwood Rivenbark and Nelva Rivenbark Albury.
Charlotte is survived by her loving children, Ray Lanier, Jr and wife Tammy of Rose Hill, Wayne Lanier and wife Diana of Tampa, Florida, Amber Wilson and husband Brian of Rose Hill and Blair Davis and husband John of Wallace, grandchildren, Preston Lanier, Brandon Lanier, Lauren Lanier, McKennah Lanier, Kai Lanier and Nevaeh Lanier; great grandchildren, Tanner Brennan and wife Lindsey, Ripley Wilson and Elle Raegan Davis; sister, Connie Pittman; brother, Donald Rivenbark; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that loved Charlotte dearly.
Charlotte was a loving mother and grandmother who loved her family with all her heart. She was a simple lady who enjoyed simple things such as watching a child smile or seeing their eyes light up from a surprise. Charlotte had a great passion for children, and she helped raise many little ones over the years. Most of all, Charlotte loved the Lord and lived her life honoring and serving Him. She was a lady with a big heart and love for others. Charlotte will surely be missed but treasured memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 2, 2023, at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel with Pastor Wayne Lanier officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial gifts be sent to Nelva Rivenbark Albury Recreation Area, 9066 W. 9th Street, Surf City, NC 28445.
