Eleanor Walters Lindsay, age 88, of Burgaw passed away on Friday, August 03, 2007, at Pender Memorial Hospital.

She was born July 5, 1919 in Robeson County, the daughter of the late Henry Douglas Walters and Lizzie Howell Walters. She was also predeceased by her husband, Legrand Lindsay on March 5, 2007; grandson, Carlton Britt, Jr.; and brother, Dewitt Walters.

Mrs. Lindsay was a member of Cora's Grove PFWB Church.

Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Jo Ellen and Ed Hickmon of Hampstead, Betty and Tom Arnette of Holden Beach, and Frances and Carlton Britt of Lumberton; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and June Lindsay of Burgaw; seven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; two great great grandsons; sister, Elizabeth W. Lindsay of Lutz, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service on Sunday, 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with the Rev. W. E. Smith officiating.

Burial will follow in Burgaw Cemetery.
