Elease Henry Zander, age 79, of Burgaw died Sunday, January 31, 2010 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Moore County and was the daughter of the late Carl Fredrick and Anne Myrtle Jackson Henry.

Elease is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Woodcock and husband, Ray of Currie, Catherine Midgette of Italy and Marcia Johnson and husband, Tom of Maryland; sons, Bruce Hewett, Sr. and wife, Vicky of Kentucky and Marcus Zander of Currie; ten grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

Elease was an independent, quiet spoken lady who loved and cared for her family in her own special way. Being an exceptional seamstress, she not only sewed for economic gain but also made many of her daughters' clothes when they were children. Elease was blessed with an artistic ability and enjoyed acrylic painting, using much the same style as the famous artist, Claude Monet. Fond memories of Elease will forever remain in our hearts.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
