Ellen Carol McGuire (Manley) was called to the place the Lord has prepared for her on November 4, 2012. She will be greeted by her father, Robert G. Manley; her mother, Glenna M. Manley; and Aunt Eleanor Coleman.

Ellen was born April 3, 1959 in Glen Cove, N.Y. She was welcomed into the Manley family by her two older sisters, Virginia Schultz (Jeff) and Margie Urbas (Jay Armour). Ellen attended North Shore High School in Glen Head, N.Y. and went on to Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. On a beautiful day in May of 1984, Ellen married Edward A. McGuire. Ellen and Ed have three wonderful children: Eric, Elise (fiancée Nathan Brace), and Elaine. Ellen also leaves behind Aunt Marty and Uncle Roy Moffitt, Uncle Ron Coleman, many nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers and sisters-in-laws, good friends, and neighbors.

Ellen was a Domestic Goddess, who was devoted to her family and friends. She was an avid volunteer and attended almost ALL of her children's events. Proceeds derived from her annual Halloween Haunted House benefited John T. Hoggard Band Boosters, Shriners' Crippled Children, Lower Cape Fear Hospice, and the Disabled American Veterans. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to her favorite charities.

The family would also like to extend its deepest gratitude to all medical staff who aided her in her journey.

Per Ellen's request, please wear bright colors and a smile for her visitation and memorial service. Remember, while we have lost a wonderful person, the memories, if shared, will live forever.

The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:30 pm, Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home, Bradley Creek Chapel where a memorial service will begin at 2:30 PM. Friends will be received at the McGuire residence from 4:30 - 8:00 PM.
