Ellen Marie Williams, 59, of Burgaw, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2024. Born on August 19, 1964, the daughter of William Thompson Sr and Bessie Huggins Thompson. Ellen was known for her unwavering love for her family. As a grandmother, she delighted in showering her grandchildren with love and affection, creating memories that will be cherished forever

Ellen had a passion for caring for others which led her to pursue a career in nursing. She approached her work with dedication and empathy, leaving a lasting impact on those she encountered. Ellen was an avid conversationalist; she had a gift for making friends wherever she went with her warm personality.

Ellen is survived by her sons, James Thompson (Renee), Steven Thompson (Brittany), Josh Thompson (April); grandchildren, Jayden, Cambree, Tristan, Kylan, Chesley, Bianca, Quintin, Kiauna, Xavier, Alana, Liam; sisters, Ann Jacobs and Deborah Sue Patrick (Larry) and many friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers; William H. Thompson Jr, Michael Thompson and sisters; Bobbie Williamson and Hilda "Tiny" Jacobs.

A visitation will be held at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home on Friday, May 17, 2024 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

A graveside service will be at Watha Methodist Church Cemetery on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.

Ellen will be deeply missed by her family and friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her, she was loved beyond measure and her legacy of love and compassion will endure for generations to come.
