Ellis was a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather whose greatest joy was his family and being at home. He was best known as "Bubba" to his great-grandchildren. A man of integrity and honesty, Ellis set a positive example for his children and grandchildren to follow. He was a strong, courageous and yet gentle man who brought out the good in all those who were near and dear to him. With a keen sense of humor and charitable spirit, he cultivated many relationships that sustained him and his family through the dark days of his illness. Ellis' family and friends are comforted knowing that he has moved on from this life to a much fuller one with Jesus Christ, his Lord throughout eternity. Ellis will be missed but cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the Torrans family request that donations be given to Carlton's United Methodist Church, c/o Kathy Robbins, 212 Beasley Torrans Road, Warsaw, NC 28398 or to Carolina East Hospice Foundation, 748 S. Kenansville By-Pass, Kenansville, NC 28349.
