Elsie Leviner Brown, age 63, of Burgaw passed from this earth to her eternal Heavenly home on Thursday, August 28, 2008.

She was born September 9, 1944 in Wallace, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Heborn and Bessie Hatcher. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Neal Leviner, Lee Tunstall and Reese Brown.

Elsie was a faithful member and deacon of Pike Rocky Point Presbyterian Church. She was proud of being an evangelist with a license to preach and she joyfully shared the word of God with others.

She found great joy in the simplest of things, but her greatest joy was family. Elsie loved music, singing, knitting and crocheting. She was active in her church through the years and was blessed with a love for the Lord and a faith that took her through an extended illness. Elsie's family is grateful to God for her life, for your friendship and for your kindness and prayers.

Surviving are her loving family: her daughters, Loretta Williams and her husband, Steven and Samantha Tunstall all of Burgaw; grandsons, Steven Williams and Christopher Savory; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2008, at Pike Rocky Point Presbyterian Church. At other times the family will be at the home of Loretta and Steven Williams.

Following the visitation the funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Pike Rocky Point Presbyterian Church with The Rev. J. C. Young-Thompson officiating.

Burial will follow in Pike Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Damon Stanley, Richard Bellows, Mark Mintz, Matt Todd, Kenny Powers and Jim Martin.

Honorary bearers will be Elders and Deacons of Pike Rocky Point Presbyterian Church.
