Elvin Douglas Squires, 77, of Kelly, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at home with his family by his side. Elvin was born in Bladen County on September 22, 1943 to the late John Douglas and Sadie Ruth Squires.

In addition to his parents, Elvin is preceded in death by his sister, Cherry Sholar.

Elvin is survived by his loving wife, Faye Little Squires; his son, Danny Squires (Sabrina); two daughters, Sandy Brown (Terry) and Lisa Squires (Matt); six grandchildren, Terry Brown, Jr. (TJ) (Aarika), Malaki Brown (Ki), Travin Squires, Raven Young, Payton Squires, and Mason Squires; two sisters, Kathleen Malpass (Ray) of Delco, Carolyn Buie (Howard) of Kelly; and three brothers, Alfred Ray Squires (Frances) of Bolton, Claudie Squires of Kelly, and Jerry Squires (Sherry) of Kelly; and many extended family and friends.

For most of his working life, Elvin was a heavy equipment operator. Outside of work, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was near and dear to his family and will be truly missed.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January, 28, 2021 at Natmoore Baptist Church Cemetery, located at 4189 Natmore Road in Kelly, with Pastor Walter Hayes officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.
