Emmett Morris Sniff, 84, of Hampstead, NC, fell asleep in the Lord on December 10, 2017 after a courageous battle with dementia.
Emmett was born October 15, 1933 in North Little Rock, AR, son of the late Burl J. and Helen M. Sniff.
Emmett was a devoted father and grandfather. Leaving behind to cherish his memories are two sons, Walter(Tammy) and Burl Sniff, and a daughter, Jeanette Strickland, all of Hampstead; grandchildren, Eric Sniff, Mary Ann Sniff, Calvin Sniff, Kristin Sniff, Joshua Hendricks, Michael Strickland Jr and Veda Strickland; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Emmett is a veteran having served his country during the Korean Conflict.
He worked all his life as a plasterer. He owned Sniff Plastering Company which was established in 1926 by his father, Burl. Emmett was known as "Plaster Master" and "The Concrete Man". Several TV stations and newspapers have done documentaries on him for his amazing talent of sculpting statuaries made of cement. He was also a giver. He received great satisfaction knowing that he helped someone.
He was a member of Blake's Chapel Advent Christian Church where he took an active role in the construction of the new church and fellowship hall.
A celebration of Emmett's life will be held at Blake's Chapel Advent Christian Church, 88 Blakes Chapel Road, Hampstead, NC, on Friday, December 15, 2017, at 2pm. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Reverend Edward Dowd will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made in his name to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice or Blakes Chapel Advent Christian Church.
The family would like to thank the Hospice staff for all the care, love, and support they gave not only to Emmett, but to his family during this difficult time.
