Ernest Craven Brewer, 77, of Warsaw passed away at his home, on Friday, September 19, 2014.

He was born on January 17, 1937 in Faison, NC, the son of the late Esthel Craven and Helen Ellis Brewer.

Mr. Brewer is survived by his wife, Ellen Lentz Brewer of Warsaw, NC, two sons, Ellis Craven Brewer (Tracy) of Greenville, SC and Warren Lentz Brewer (Angie) of Wilmington, NC, one daughter, Margaret Linn (Tom) of Charlotte, NC, two grandchildren, Molly Riegle Linn and Claire Rainey Linn, two brothers, Glenn D. Brewer (Melba) of Faison, NC and D. Ray Brewer (Elizabeth) of Fuquay Varina, NC, a sister, Debora Brewer of Wake Forest, NC, a sister-in-law, Peggy Brewer of Faison, NC and his beloved dog, Sir Walter Wally.

Mr. Brewer was predeceased by his brother, Louis A. Brewer.

Graveside service will be held at Wayne Memorial Park, 2925 US Hwy 117 South in Dudley, NC on Monday, September 22, 2014 at 11:00 AM with the Reverend Dr. Joe Ward officiating.

Mr. Brewer was a retired commander in the US Navy Reserve Unit having served for 28 years. He was a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill class of 1959 and a life long fan of UNC "Tarheels" and a brother in Kappa Sigma Fraternity.
